- PLEASE urge Kathy Clark and Ken Martin to consider beginning a 30 minute daily news conference at 4pm where the DNC routinely and factually reports the Trump/Muskatrocities, mistakes, and crimes, AND states the Democratic response and position. They should also be posting their response on a published website. The DNC should use it to remind people what the Party stands for.
- The media will initially send only their cub reporters to cover the show, but they will quote on the evening news the pithy and newsworthy statements made during the show. Eventually, major media outlets will attend.
- Name it “Democrats Defending Democracy,” or “America’s Alarm Bell,” something catchy.
- Select ONE person to be the continuing face/Emcee.
- Get people like James Carville, Tim Snyder, Jon Meacham, Nick Ackerman to be presenters
- Get Cong. Clark, Sen. Whitehouse and Adam Schiff to make commentaries. Rotate the spokespersons, but
- keep on message which is :
- Stop the Madness,
- Bid No Trump,
- Fire the Muskrat,
- Democrats oppose gutting the FBI,
- Democrats oppose gutting USAID
- Democrats oppose gutting the Civil Rights Division of DOJ
- Democrats oppose handing Musk access to all of the Department of the Treasury’s database,
- Wake up America: Musk now has access to your tax returns. What will he do with them?
- Democrats favor free trade, not tariffs that punish our allies.
- Wake up voters, Trump and his rich friends are stealing your money.
- law-abiding, undocumented immigrants should not be deported; ICE officers should be held accountable for their abuse of the process; families should not be separated; churches should not be violated, children should not be traumatized
- Make the message catchy and hard-hitting.
- Being nice isn’t working.
- Call out GOP Senators who know better and are silent and ignoring their oath
Action Steps:
Indivisible is asking us to go to our Senators’ offices and demand Russel Vought’s nomination to direct the Office of Management and Budget be rescinded; Vought is one of the chief architect’s of Project 2025 and was behind the attempt to freeze the budget. If you can’t go to an office, call our Senators so they know they have our support.

Recognize the Crisis
- Trump and Musk are orchestrating a hostile takeover of the federal government.
- Vought is not just a nominee—he is a direct threat to democracy.
Use Every Procedural Tool to Block This
- No is not enough. Yes, we expect every Senate Democrat to vote NO on Russell Vought’s confirmation, but no is not enough. We need Democrats to grind Senate business to a halt and force Republicans to feel the political cost of backing Trump’s extremist agenda.
- Deny a quorum. Walk out if necessary to stop Senate business.
- Block unanimous consent. Force full roll-call votes on everything.
- Max out debate time. Speak for the full 30 hours of debate.
- Gum up the works. Object to every procedural motion, force procedural votes, demand roll calls, and delay every possible action. This is not business as usual. We need Democrats to fight with everything they have.
- Blanket opposition. Oppose vote NO on every Trump nominee while the coup continues.
Expose Republican Complicity
- Force Republicans to defend their vote. Make them answer to the American people.
- Call out the risks to Social Security, Medicare, and government programs that millions of people depend on.
We’re fortunate to live in a blue state, but if you know people who live in purple or red states, talk to them and explain what’s happening and that it’ll affect, among many things, their Social Security, Meals on Wheels, and healthcare. We need to turn four republican senators.
