Tuesday, September 25, 2018  SISTER DISTRICT CANDIDATE ANTON ANDREW 7:00 - 8:30 PM The Home of Linda Levin-Scherz 75 Woodbine Road Belmont, MA 02478 Sister District of MA and RI is delighted to welcome its Pennsylvania House of Representative Candidate Anton Andrew! Pennsylvania is a badly gerrymandered state where we need to make inroads this year. This seat is an excellent flip opportunity and Anton is a great candidate. Anton Andrew is a rising star in the Democratic Party, with over two decades of experience successfully fighting for poor and working families as a lawyer, executive, educator and community activist. He has also been an environmental champion and member of the Board of Trustees of the Nature Conservancy, and a skilled executive and chair of the board of directors of Open Connections, an educational resource center. He is running against a ten-term Republican. This event promises to be a lot of fun and a great way to meet area progressives working to turn our country blue! Suggested donations: $20.18 Friend, $50  Activist, $100 Supporter, $250 Sponsor  $500 Investor Any contribution, no matter the amount, is welcome

BELMONT TO ELECT DELEGATES TO DEMOCRATIC STATE CONVENTION Registered Democrats in Belmont will hold a caucus on Saturday, May 11 from 1-4pm at the Town Hall Auditorium to elect delegates and alternates to the 2019 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. This year’s state convention will be held September 14th at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, where thousands of Democrats from across the state will come together to discuss Party business and celebrate our successes as we prepare for upcoming elections. The caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in Belmont. Pre-registered Democrats who will be 16 by May 11, 2019 will be allowed to participate and run as a delegate or alternate. Belmont can elect 17 delegates, 8 women and 8 men, one with no gender requirement, and four alternates to the Convention. Youth, minorities, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ individuals who are not elected as a delegate or alternate may apply to be an add-on delegate at the caucus or at Important Rules: You must be present to be nominated. If there are not enough candidates present to fill all delegate and alternate positions, two-thirds of those present and voting at the local caucus may move to have a candidate's name placed in nomination despite the candidate's absence provided that the candidate has notified the chair beforehand. Nominations are closed by two-thirds of those present and voting. Each candidate is allowed to make a two minute speech. Those interested in getting involved with the Belmont Democratic Town Committee should contact BDTC Chair Linda Levin-Scherz at 617-834-4682 or check out their website at
