Join us for the National Day of Service – Saturday, January 19th

January 19, 2013 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

In keeping with the Democratic ideal of helping one’s fellow man, President Obama announced a National Day of Service to kick-off the festivities surrounding his inauguration to take place on Saturday, January 19th.
To honor the President’s request, on that day we will be joining the City Mission Society of Boston for their Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and Learning.  Once we submit our list of volunteers we will be assigned a work site.  We will be expected to arrive at the site at 9:15 AM in order to start work at 9:30 AM.  We’ll work until 12:30 PM and then are invited to join other volunteers for lunch, music and entertainment, and a closing ceremony at the United Parish in Brookline.
This is a great opportunity to serve your community while enjoying the company of your Belmont neighbors.  If you have any questions or wish to join us, please contact us at  The CMS requests a $20/person donation to cover the cost of the materials needed for the work.
PLEASE JOIN US!!  RSVP at by January 14th.
