Belmont Town Day, Saturday May 19th

We had a terrific time at Town Day on May 19th!   Mother Nature gave us a beautiful day and our fellow Belmontians were out in force. We had a great deal of activity at our table, thanks in no small part to Sallye Bleiberg’s herculean effort in putting together and holding an “election” for the kids. While the kids voted for their favorite animated or action hero, we had the chance to talk with their parents about the DTC and the various Democratic candidates running this year (we had literature for Obama, Warren, and our own Will Brownsberger – we also had a petition from Amend 2012). Sallye prepared 180 ballots and they were ALL USED UP!! We gathered more than 50 new names for our BDTC mailing list and handed out cards announcing the time and place of our next meeting as well as our FB, Email and Website info in the hopes of recruiting new members.
A huge THANK YOU to not only Sallye, who spent the entire day at our table, but to the other members of the committee who also spent time manning the table: Helen Bakeman, Marty Cohen, Caroline Huang, Anne Mahon, Anne Paulsen, and Richard Waring. The day was a great success – it wouldn’t have happened without your help!!
